It’s the end of an era. As today Yahoo which sold to the telecom giant Verizon has announced to sell its all internet operations to the Chinese internet giant Alibaba.
Yahoo Inc said today that it will rename itself Altaba Inc and Chief Executive Officer Marissa Mayer would step down from the board after the closing of its deal with Verizon Communications Inc.
It is expected that Mayer will remain in the Yahoo’s core business. It will be confirmed in the upcoming announcement by the Telecom Giant.
Altaba, a holding company whose primary assets will be a 15 percent stake in Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba Group Holding Ltd and 35.5 percent stake in Yahoo Japan.
Microsoft, back in 2008 lodged a $45 billion hostile bid for Yahoo!. Microsoft had offered $31 per share, which then-Yahoo!-CEO Jerry Yang turned down.
Due to the data breach in the year 2013 the company was upside side down which leads to the deal of $4.83 billion with the Verizon in the year 2016. This was one of the reasons Yahoo was sold out for such Unexpected Price.

At present, the company board members and the people who are behind the company want to make the name Yahoo to vanish so as to recreate it with the name Altaba.
Yahoo will be the main operating business within Verizon. After the recent acquisition of the Faded internet star, AOL Verizon will come up with many things. This is not the end there will be as many as changes will be done to make them come back in the future.
